About Quit WA
Since 1983 Quit WA has used a broad range of strategies to reduce harm associated with tobacco use and exposure. Strategies implemented by Quit WA are consistent with the international literature on tobacco control and are evidence based. These include mass media campaigns, legislation, quitting support, school & public education, promotion & sponsorship, support for smoke-free policies, collaboration across sectors, and research & evaluation.
The Quit Campaign is one of the major strategies employed by Quit WA. A range of media and community-based strategies are used to enable and encourage smokers to quit. The Quit Campaign targets groups that include adult smokers, young men and women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, as well as health professionals and other members of the community that can assist smokers in their efforts to quit.
